BREAKING INTO HOLLYWOOD WITH A SELF-FUNDED SHORT FILM? IMPOSSIBLE!!
Again I despair at not being able to pay people! Trying to get everyone sorted for camera tests, a pick-up shot (beach flashback) and a final tech recce is like trying to put kittens in a box. Our gaffer is obviously FAR too much in demand as he keeps getting offered work when we need him! C’est la vie.
Worked on story boards with DOP last night but have managed to pick-up my three year old daughter’s cold (which she got from pre-school) so currently feel like sh*t.
Meeting tomorrow at Digital Post with Matt Cunningham, a Red camera postproduction workflow expert.
Rehearsal went great last week, and we’ve got a second (and final) one this Tuesday. Fantastic to get input from experienced actors; helped me fine-tune their action & dialogue.
Speaking of which: I’m re-working the script (minor tweaks) and will post the new version in place of the old in the next week or so. (For the legions of followers of this blog who are anxiously waiting with baited breath… bated breath? bayted breath…..)
OH! And we have an even cooler “dark alley” than shown below - now renamed the “balcony” where Fi’s sister, will “fall” from. Same building, but a different aspect. You’ll be left in no doubt that such a fall would f*** her up big time. (i.e: lead to her demise) COOL!
